🥾 Autumn Feet: How to Keep Your Toes Happy This Season

As the leaves turn golden and the nights get cooler, our feet often get overlooked. After all, once the sandals are tucked away and the boots come out, it’s easy to forget about giving our feet the TLC they deserve. But autumn is the perfect time to check in with your feet before the winter really sets in.

🥾 Why autumn matters for foot health

  • Boot season is back! While cosy, boots can be cramped, and if they’re not fitted properly, they can lead to blisters, bunions, or toenail problems.

  • Colder weather = drier skin. Central heating and chilly winds can dry out your skin, leaving heels cracked and sore.

  • More layers, less checking. When feet are hidden away in socks all day, it’s easier to miss little issues like fungal infections or ingrown toenails.

🥾 Top tips for autumn-ready feet

  1. Give your shoes a check-up. Before you step into last year’s boots, check the soles and insoles. Are they supportive? Do they still fit well? Feet can change size and shape over time, so don’t assume they’ll feel the same as last year.

  2. Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. Apply a good foot cream after your evening shower. Your heels will thank you when the party season comes around!

  3. Keep those toenails neat. Trim straight across to avoid ingrown nails (and resist the temptation to round the corners).

  4. Don’t hibernate from exercise. With darker evenings, it’s tempting to stay in, but staying active helps circulation and keeps your feet moving happily.

  5. Socks matter! Opt for breathable, moisture-wicking socks to avoid fungal infections, especially if you’re wearing thicker footwear.

🥾 Fun foot fact of the season 😆

Did you know pumpkins aren’t just for carving? Pumpkin seeds are packed with zinc, which is great for skin repair — so they might even help your feet heal those little autumn cracks and scrapes.

🥾 Final step

Think of autumn as a fresh start for your feet. Before the rush of Christmas parties, winter boots, and long days on your feet, give them a little extra love now. After all, they’re carrying you through every golden leaf pile and pumpkin patch this season.

Take care of your feet and enjoy autumn.
